The Blue Alpha Gear is easily the best-looking “tactical style” belt on this list with the seriously stealthy looks and slim lines.
The belt is built well and the robust width and good attention to detail make this a gorgeous belt for those who want something a bit more tactical, but don’t want to show off what they may be carrying.
With this belt, it’d be a perfect addition for those who want to have a t-shirt or other lightweight clothing option, as the slim lines can easily be concealed. Best for use with a smaller firearm as this belt will keep the lines as close to your waist as possible.
Pros
- If you like the tactical look, this is the best of the bunch without being overtly tactical.
- Smooth lines and spartan design with great attention to detail
- Specific sizing offers a great fit for many different waist sizes
- Lightweight
- Made in the USA
- Lifetime warranty
Cons
- Very simple design that isn’t a normal belt, and while it can be used for anything, it isn’t going to fit as well as other belts look wise when you are not carrying
- The belt will be harder to remove for using the restroom due to the way it is designed
Why It’s Recommended
The Blue Alpha is a phenomenal belt for those who want the slimmest lines and the best fit for a majority of pants. The thinner profile still offers good rigidity and great carrying capacity.

The massive dimensions of the Wolf Tactical make it a serious contender…IF you have the pants that accommodate it.
The 1.75” wide belt and the super thick reinforced webbing make this a serious belt. It’s well built, thoughtfully designed, and very heavy for a composite/synthetic material belt.
It can easily handle all the weight you would need it to without folding or falling, and the warranty is very good.
The one caveat to this, aside from potentially too big of dimensions, is the metal buckle system might be a bit loud in certain settings.
That said it is built like a brick house and will last a long time – the company claims forever (Your Lifetime).
Pros
- Seriously well built for a commodity style webbing belt
- Great warranty
- Can hold anything on your hip
- Thick
Cons
- Heavy and may be too large for many belt loops
Why It’s Recommended
While you might have to buy some new pants to wear the Wolf Tactical, you probably won’t be disappointed, as the belt is built for legitimate service and you will be able to comfortably handle any gun type.

That said this is a very heavy belt. It’s a 17 oz. leather profile that offers a single piece of leather (not two stitched together) and a heavy-duty buckle.
Very traditional build style and the non-riveted buckle holders offer a changeable buckle interface. The famous 100-year warranty offers you peace of mind, that only a $50+ dollar belt can give.
It’s expensive but it is proven to be very solid and the customer support is enthusiastic, to say the least, offering a good team to help you through the buying/owning process.
Pros
- Thick, massive, and heavily reinforced
- Capable of carrying just about anything you want to on your belt.
- 100-year warranty
- Excellent customer service
- Capable of casual non-carry use, even if it is ridiculously thick
Cons
- Somewhat pricey
Why It’s Recommended
The sheer build quality of the Hanks Extreme is enough to make most people pull the trigger on a purchase. The lifetime (100 years) warranty will probably convert the rest.

Minus33 is the bargain leather option and it is a great belt. The durability is not as good as some of the others on this list, but it runs about half their price point.
The sturdiness should be sufficient for a smaller gun and the warranty is still good. The brand isn’t as proven as some of the others, but the quality seems decent for the price.
The 1 ½” wide belt is very substantial and despite not being through-dyed, the leather is decent and will wear well for most people.
If you want a truly hardcore leather belt this may be a bit dainty for you, but it is probably the best for more casual occasional duty carry or as a backup to another belt, that can still be used as a normal belt easily without detracting from your look.
Pros
- Excellent price point
- Good warranty
- Good looking and more mainstream than most of the belts on this list
Cons
- Not through-dyed
- Not full grain as advertised (rather, it is top grain corrected grain)
Why It’s Recommended
While the Minus33 isn’t as robust as some of the others on the list, it is also a bargain price for a very high-quality leather belt that is still very capable of carrying a smaller pistol. It’s the bargain choice for those with smaller guns.
5. ComfortTac
Ultimate Belly Band
$21.99 in stock
Features
- Our belly band holster is available in right- and left-hand draw; designed for firearms of various sizes, including subcompact, compact, and full-size pistols and revolvers
- From wearing it at the appendix or hip, to sporting it outside the pants cross draw or open carry style, you can wear this pistol holster your way
- Our gun holster for women & men is compatible with Glock 19, 23, 38, 25, 32, 26, 27, 29, 30, 39, 28, 33, 42, 43, 36, Smith and Wesson, Bodyguard, M&P Shield, Sig Sauer, Ruger, Kahr, Beretta, Springfield, Taurus PT111, Kimber, Rock Island, Bersa, Kel Tec, Walther, and more
- The Large, adjustable neoprene waistband on our bellyband holster for men and women fits up to a 44" belly while the XL fits up to a 54" belly
- These belly band holsters come with a hard plastic trigger guard and metal snap retention strap as a helpful safety feature to keep your gear secure
ComfortTac is the least stiff feeling holster belt on this list, but not a traditional design for this market segment. This is a larger band that goes under your waistband, not around it.
The design is best for those who are not larger builds and for smaller guns that will need to be carried in more active scenarios like while running or while being able to do physical activity.
The good quality build will still only last a year or two of heavy-duty day-to-day use, as the belt is based on neoprene and Velcro with elastic parts integrated.
For the money and the use case, it may make sense to replace it annually or every other year as the Velcro or elastic wears out.
Pros
- A great way to remain active while carrying
- Very good for subcompact guns
- Unisex – though this model is not built for very large users
Cons
- The marketing department is a bit optimistic about the capabilities of the holster belt
- It will wear out by virtue of the materials used, even though it will serve you well until it wears out
Why It’s Recommended
The ComfortTac is a very good holster belt for a while until the materials fail. If you need the unique characteristics of Velcro, elastic, and neoprene, this is a fine choice.

The Ultimate Steel Core is a very strong belt indeed. The spring steel insert offers an extra component to improve durability with regard to holster wear. This was already a brand that made incredible belts.
This one offers even more value given the new lining. The weight carrying capacity of the belt is now legitimately increased and the chance for holster flop is out the window.
This is a great belt for day-to-day use too, though it is best suited for normal CCW carry. This is among the most proven CCW belts. The company offers a lifetime warranty and it is made in the USA.
Pros
- Spring steel lined
- The superior build quality to most market offerings
- Great brand and customer service
Cons
- No real CONS – even with the pricing being slightly high
Why It’s Recommended
For those who need the maximum carrying capacity, the Ultimate Steel Core is a proper choice. You can’t complain about a belt that’s built as good as the warranty or even better.
7. BLACKHAWK! CQB/Rigger’s
BLACKHAWK! CQB/Rigger's
$49.90 in stock
Features
- Parachute-grade buckles and adapters meet PIA-H-7195 standards
- Versatile belt
- Hook & loop secures running end
- 1.75” webbing
- Three sizes: Small (to 34”), Medium (to 41”), Large (41”-51”). Size 34", 41" and 41"-51" mentions Waist size and not belt size
The Blackhawk is a proven belt and for a long time was the go-to belt for general duty tactical use. The colorways are good, and the durability is there, but admittedly it is a lighter weight belt than the others on this list.
It is perfect for someone who wants the ultimate in lightweight without sacrificing too much strength, even though they will have to forfeit some rigidity. The buckles are great, and the build details are excellent, but this is not for the bigger guns.
Pros
- Lightweight
- Great color options
- Proven brand – and even a proven belt
- Lots of adjustabilities
Cons
- Maybe too lightweight for many users
Why It’s Recommended
The Blackhawk is a great multi-use belt that can be suitable for smaller guns or as a backup belt but excels as a belt for the user who is counting ounces on their overall rig. This belt is lightweight and comfortable, even if it suffers a bit from rigidity.

Measure belly or hips, whichever is larger and always round up if you are between sizes. The adjustable concealed carry holster is perfect for runners, joggers and hikers, and everyday carry.
The Gootus is a design that is substantially similar to one we covered above of the same style. We have used the same information (as it is so similar) for this holster with some basic changes to accommodate the fact that this is an extended-size version of the generic holster band style belt.
The design is best for those who are of larger builds and for smaller guns that will need to be carried in more active scenarios like while running or while being able to do physical activity.
- Unisex – though this model is built for very large users
Cons
- The marketing department is a bit optimistic about the capabilities of the holster belt
- It will wear out by virtue of the materials used, even though it will serve you well until it wears out
Why It’s Recommended
The Gootus is a very good holster belt for a while until the materials fail. If you need the unique characteristics of Velcro, elastic, and neoprene, this is a fine choice.
9. Wolf Tactical

- 【QUICK-RELEASE BUCKLE】★ The metal quick-release buckle gives convenient, instant attach-detach capability. Our tactical belt is perfect for military, law enforcement, first responders, hunting, wilderness and outdoor survival.
- 【PREMIUM HEAVY DUTY MATERIALS】★ Crafted with two layers of rugged, rip-resistant 1.5” nylon webbing reinforced for added rigidity, our gun belt will withstand even the most extreme conditions. - 【COMFORTABLE AND ADJUSTABLE】★ For an EDC belt, comfort and fit are king. Double-layer nylon webbing makes the perfect combination of rigidity and comfort. No holes in the belt means you can fully adjust for a custom fit according to the firearm, gear, and accessories you’re carrying.
- 【TRUSTED WOLF TACTICAL QUALITY】★ Wolf Tactical designs mission-ready tactical gear built to last. We are based in the USA and dedicated to great customer service. Full refund if your expectations aren’t met for any reason. Feel confident with your purchase.
The Wolf Tactical is best suited for use on users who need an over the waist fit, instead of a belt loop fit, as the benefits of this belt at the quick-release metal buckle system and the heavy-duty strapping build.
This will lend well to a duty belt, where you don’t necessarily want it to go through a belt loop. The QD buckle is exceptionally well built and the quality of the belt overall is top-notch.
The price is right and the ability to hold heavy loads and ride on the hips lower make it a great full-time duty belt. It can be used with some belt loops, but the larger size of the buckle may make it hard to fit for some loop sets.
Pros
- Great duty style belt that doesn’t have to get through belt loops but instead can ride on the hips
- Quick detachable for emergency responders who can drop their belt as needed – not perhaps best suited for law enforcement
- Great for casual carriers who need something occasionally but want quick on/off potential
Cons
- It May not fit some belt loops
Why It’s Recommended
The Wolf Tactical is a great option for those who want quick in/out for their belts. This is not a casual belt, but it is not a full-time belt either if you don’t want it to be. It does have a very specific look though.
10. Rescomp Competition Super Hi-Torque Belt
Made to be used as an outer carry holster belt that can go outside of your normal belt, this is for really big guns or bigger users that want an absolute position for their firearm, with an outside waistband holster.
It is a competition belt that has a feature set that offers unique and substantial carryover from competition to concealed carry. It’s admittedly, overtly, the least concealable gun belt here, but it still can be concealed if worn properly and if you have a bigger gun that requires looser clothing.
Pros
- Made for heavy guns with a specific OWB holster location that requires the holster to be locked into place
- Great design features and great warranty from Brownell’s
- Top-quality Velcro and detail-oriented design
Cons
- May not be as concealable as others on this list
Why It’s Recommended
For those who prefer the OWB and want top-quality retention, the Rescomp Hi Torque offers unique features that cater to exactly that.
Types of Belts available for Concealed Carry Weapons
This is a straightforward article, as there isn’t a lot of new technology in the belt segment of the market that hasn’t already been discussed. That said, these are not your run-of-the-mill belts, they are in some cases, belts that are warranted for your lifetime, and beyond (a hundred years in some cases).
Leather Belts
The original CCW Belt, Leather belts have a classy look, great natural properties, and are exceptionally durable. They also fit well with leather holsters.
Velcro Belts
The Velcro belts are the most adjustable, easiest to use, and best holding belts generally, but they will eventually wear out and have to be replaced. If you want absolute performance and don’t need leather, then a Velcro belt is a good choice as long as you understand that eventually the hook and loop Velcro will wear out and you will need to find a new one.
Nylon Non-Velcro Belts
These are a direct replacement for leather without the same weight profile and with the ability to be stiffened. If you want a hybridized approach to holster wear, this is the obvious choice. The options for buckles, retention, and the fact that they can be stiffened and reinforced easily make these the utilitarian choice for those who want to know they can adapt to any accessory needed.
Isn’t this just a regular belt?
They are belts, yes, but they are far from regular belts unless your normal belt is built to last forever, thicker by 1.5 times the normal market offering, and made to hold a ridiculous amount of weight while still maintaining balance and comfort.
As a belt, these are among the best you can buy, even if you never put a holster on the belt. But when it comes to carrying a concealed firearm you need strength, dexterity, and durability in your belt. These items are built to hold up to 5 pounds worth of a firearm on your hip inside the band of your pants in a holster, while still keeping your pants up and not breaking your belt loops.
Some considerations
- You need to ensure your normal pants can handle the extra width of the belt – some belt loops just aren’t up to par
- A holster is important and you can find our article on the best holsters under the Tactical tab.
- Retention and durability of the belt material are paramount, especially since your holster will be worn, generally in a single spot daily for many years, the failure point will be in that place, so the belt has to withstand that kind of abuse
- Most of these belts will have to be taken off at metal detection units, as they will trigger the machine – clearly you won’t be carrying a firearm in that instance unless you are law enforcement or military
- These belts can all be used as a normal belt, but they are not fancy, fashion-forward belts – Even the best-looking leather belts on this list are still kind of lacking in the fashion arena
Bottom Line
It doesn’t matter if you want a super concealable and stealthy belt or if you can handle a bit more bulk on the hips for your OWB holster, these belts are all spectacular in their own right, but that’s a key phrase, no two belts are super similar, with the exception of the two, neoprene material band-style holster belts.
This list has a great diversity of offerings and hopefully points out the necessary qualities for you to make a decision on as to which will be the best CCW belt for you.
The options and the style choices make this list very unique, where more belt comparison lists have very similar belts this one has a wide variety of offerings, each of which could easily be your go-to, on any given day without a shred of hesitation.
