Whether you’re hunting whitetail, cottontails, or gobblers, the first step in having a successful hunt is finding out where your game is. And even the best trackers sometimes need help.
Mother nature doesn’t always play nice with your hunting plans. It rains when you need dry weather, or stays dry for weeks when the ground is too dry for your game to leave any prints. In those types of cases, a wireless trail camera can save your entire hunting season.
That’s why we went out and chose twelve game cameras to review in detail. In these trail camera reviews, we’ll be looking at picture quality, motion sensor quality, battery life, and overall value. Another important thing we’ll be looking at is whether it’s a cellular game camera or whether you have to retrieve the pictures locally.
No matter what you want, we hope our game camera reviews help you find something that’s best for you.

The FDHCAM is a 12-megapixel motion sensor camera.
Key Features
- 12-megapixel camera and 1080p video
- 120-degree field of view
- 45-foot trigger distance
- 0.2-second trigger speed
- Includes mounting hardware
- Takes 4 AA batteries
The FDHCAM Trail Game Camera is an old-school trail camera that’s designed for monitoring trailheads and other areas with a relatively narrow area of the approach. The three motion sensors and 12-megapixel camera have a 120-degree field of view, so keep that in mind when you’re positioning it.
This camera has a relatively quick, 0.2-second trigger speed, and will use an infrared flash at night to improve nighttime picture quality. Pictures are clear and crisp both day and night.
The 4 AA batteries will last for about a week, but will only give you about 20 minutes of recording if you’re trying to capture HD video. If this is a long-term setup to prepare for hunting season, use a lower resolution and limit yourself to short video clips.
The FDHCAM includes a mounting bracket and belt and can be easily mounted on a tree in just a few minutes.
Pros
- Clear night vision
Cons
- Eats batteries in high-resolution mode
This trail game camera takes clear, crisp pictures in any light condition.

The Seree Trail Camera’s corrosion-resistant aluminum frame makes it easy to mount in seconds.
Key Features
- 12-megapixel camera and 1080p video
- 90-degree field of view
- 65-foot trigger distance
- 0.2-second trigger speed
- Takes 8 AA batteries
- Comes with mounting hardware
The Seree Trail Camera is designed to be easy to mount in the field and to last a long time between battery changes. To begin with, it has a beefy aluminum frame that protects both the body of the camera and your tree from getting scratches. The kit includes a webbed nylon mounting strap, which makes it easy to set up and takedown.
This camera only has a single motion sensor, with a 90-degree field of view. On the one hand, this means you’ll need to position it more carefully than you would a 120 or 180-degree camera. On the other hand, you’ll get crisper images with a narrower field of view.
The use of a single motion sensor, along with eight AA batteries, means you can leave the Seree running for three to four weeks before it runs out of juice. The only thing we didn’t like about it was the night vision, which gets fuzzy outside of about 25 feet.
Pros
- Sturdy aluminum frame
- Good battery life
Cons
- Low-quality night vision
This is a well-engineered trail camera that’s designed for long-term use.
3. LETSCOM
Features

- Ultra Strong Waterproof Case Design * Easy Open Latch * Brass Insert Tripod Adapter * 6' Tree Strap w/Metal Buckle * Illuminated Control Panel For Easy Nighttime Setup
The LETSCOM has good battery life and a 14-megapixel camera.
Key Features
- 14-megapixel camera and 1080p video
- 120-degree field of view
- 65-foot trigger distance
- 0.4-second trigger time
- Takes 8 AA batteries
- Includes mounting hardware
The LETSCOM Trail Game Camera is built around two features: a single, 120-degree infrared motion detector, and a 14-megapixel camera. This gives it a relatively wide field of view, and a very high resolution, providing you with the kind of clarity you don’t normally see from a wide-angle digital camera.
This camera has two battery compartments. Each compartment accepts four AA batteries. While the camera will run on a single compartment, it makes more sense to load up all eight batteries.
At that point, you’re theoretically set for six months of standby time. Your actual time will vary depending on how you have the camera set up, but four weeks is easily achievable.
There’s one thing we didn’t like about the LETSCOM, and that’s the trigger time. At 0.4-seconds, it’s a bit long for catching faster-moving animals, but it’s still good enough for almost any hunting purposes.
Pros
- High picture quality
- Good battery life
Cons
- Relatively slow trigger
The LETSCOM takes high-quality, 14-megapixel photos.
4. Kuool
Features
Color | p3 |
The Kuool has an interval setting for creating time-lapse sequences.
Key Features
- 12-megapixel camera and 1080p video
- 120-degree field of view
- 60-foot trigger distance
- 0.8-second trigger time
- Takes 12 AA batteries
- Includes mounting hardware
The Kuool utilizes a single, 120-degree motion sensor, and a 12-megapixel camera. It’s designed to send you pictures and videos by text or email, and it includes a 6-inch 4G antenna to help you get a signal even on the most distant trails.
First, the bad news. This camera costs more than the other cameras we’ve looked at. This makes sense if you think about it. It’s basically a rugged, outdoor cell phone that automatically sends you pictures. But we can’t forgive the sluggish, 0.8-second trigger.
That’s long enough for a turkey to run past the camera and not end up in the picture.
That said, the Kuool will get the job done for most games, and it costs less than some premium wireless cameras. Make sure to activate the SIM card before you use it.
Pros
- Get photos and videos by text or email
- Interval setting available
- Clear night vision
Cons
- Pricey
- Slow trigger
- Short battery life
The Kuool is a solid option if you want to get live updates.
5. Meidase
Features
- HD Video and Image: This pro version is equipped with a upgraded video processor to produce 2K videos, 2 times clarity than 1080p trail cameras. It also delivers up to 48mp still images.
- Mainstream H.264 Video: Featuring H.264 video technology significantly reduces video file size and gets fast downloading speed, and .mp4 or .mov format is more compatible with most players.
- 100ft Night Vision: Featuring greater f/1.6 aperture optical lens and invisible infrared LEDs, the camera allows more light in. More light, clearer night vision.
- Fast 0.1s Trigger Speed: With additional two side sensors, the camera can reach up to fast 0.1s trigger speed when animals move from side to central viewing zone.
- Always use with ease: 2.4” color display inside, intuitive menu system, comfortable operation buttons, slot for full size SD card (not included) etc. Ease of use you can't imagine.
The Meidase is a high-resolution camera that takes beautiful infrared photographs.
Key Features
- 16-megapixel camera and 1080p video
- 90-degree field of view
- 65-foot trigger distance
- 0.4-second trigger time
- Takes 8 AA batteries
- Includes mounting hardware
The Meidase is different from the cameras we’ve looked at so far because it’s designed to take really good-looking pictures. The 16-megapixel, 90-degree camera is better suited for high-definition nature photography than it is for spotting games.
On the other hand, there are features that photographers and hunters alike will appreciate. The infrared camera, for example, features a low-visibility lens that won’t scare off animals when the shutter snaps. You’ll get incredibly sharp images of the animals, completely undisturbed.
The Meidase has a trigger delay of 0.4 seconds, which isn’t absurdly slow. But it’s slow enough to cause trouble if you’re trying to catch videos of the particularly elusive game, like coyotes. For the most game, though, half a second or less is more than fast enough to get your eyeballs on them.
Pros
- Very high resolution
- Beautiful night vision shots
Cons
- Relatively slow trigger
This Meidase is a good choice for wildlife photographers.
6. Crenova
Features
- 16MP Images, 1080P HD Videos: The trial camera records every moment of vivid wildlife & spectacular nature with rich details.
- Great Night Vision: 36-Piece 850nm IR LEDs & auto IR filter give excellent night performance, creating clear and sharp pictures and videos to satisfy all customers’ needs.
- Wider Detection, Faster Trigger: 3 Innovative sensors provide 120° detection angle & 65ft detection range, while 0.2s lightning trigger speed catches any movement of our furry friends.
- IP66 Waterproof, Versatile Uses: IP66 coating, tight seal and longer service life make it suitable for indoor & outdoor applications, like farm/home security, wildlife monitoring/hunting.
- 1-Year Warranty, Lifetime Support: Your camera comes with a 1-year free replacement or refund and a lifetime technical support. If you have any problems, just feel free to contact us.
The Crenova has a lightning-fast trigger.
Key Features
- 16-megapixel camera and 1080p video
- 120-degree field of view
- 65-foot trigger distance
- 0.2-second trigger time
- Takes 8 AA batteries
- Includes a mounting strap
The Crenova takes ultra-high-resolution, 16-megapixel photos, and 1080p videos. It does this with a 120-degree camera and three infrared motion detectors. The motion detectors will sense any movement out to 65 feet, and take a picture in 0.2 seconds or less.
On the one hand, we appreciate high resolution and a fast trigger. This camera will easily catch a gobbler running across a clearing, even in the wee hours. And a 120-degree field of view means you’ll capture more of the action.
On the other hand, the Crenova has an unusually short battery life. The 8 AA batteries only last about two weeks if your camera is set to HD. This is disappointing, especially considering how well designed the camera is otherwise.
The Crenova ships with a mounting strap, with a metal clasp that’s durable and easy to operate.
Pros
- Fast trigger
- Very high resolution
Cons
- Short battery life
This is a good choice for scouting and hunting turkey or coyotes.
7. Campark
Features
- Built-in WiFi and APP Control Function - Your Phone can download and install the APP: Trail Camera Pro. After connecting the camera through the built-in WiFi, you can adjust the settings to view or download photos and videos directly on the mobile phone. ?Note: Please search for the application name of 'Trail Camera Pro' in Google Play&APP Store to obtain the correct APP? This game camera is not a web camera, and the APP control has a limited range.
- Convenient Bluetooth Technology - You can control the camera to turn on/off the built-in WiFi through connecting the Bluetooth function, without a remote control. It will be easier for hunters to view/download videos/pictures on the camera.
- 20MP Image and 1296P Video Resolution - Trail camera can take 20MP ultra-clear pictures and record 1296P high-definition video, recording the wonderful moments of wildlife
- 940nm IR LEDs Night Vision - This trail camera uses a fully automatic infrared filter and captures the natural behavior of animals through infrared flash lighting technology equipped with 36 LEDs.
- IP66 Waterproof - Protecting your trail camera from rain and dust with its sturdy housing. It can also work in harsh environments such as deserts or tropical forest
The Campark is durable and easy on batteries.
Key Features
- 12-megapixel camera and 1080p video
- 48-degree field of view
- 55-foot trigger distance
- 0.7-second trigger time
- Takes 8 AA batteries
- Includes mounting strap
The campark is enclosed in an anodized aluminum body that’s designed to take a beating. The camera itself is nothing special; a 12-megapixel camera with a 48-degree field of view. The trigger distance – 55 feet – and speed – 0.7 seconds – are also fairly pedestrian.
What makes this camera worth the steep price tag is the quality of all the parts and the number of options. The camera lens is ultra-clear and produces vivid images in the daytime, and striking black and white night vision photographs.
In addition to using the motion sensor, you also have the option of leaving your camera in time-lapse mode, where it will take a single picture every few minutes or hours.
If you’re looking for game at night, you can use the timer to set your Trek to only operate at night, effectively doubling your battery life. If that’s not enough, Exodus offers a 5-year warranty on parts and workmanship.
Pros
- Durable aluminum body
- Customizable operating hours
- High-quality night vision mode
- Time-lapse mode available
- 5-year manufacturer’s warranty
Cons
- Pricey
The Campark you should buy if you want all the extra features.

Title | SPYPOINT Link Micro with 16GB MicroSD (Smallest on The Market!) Wireless/Cellular Trail Camera, 4 Power LEDs, Fast 4G Photo Transmission w/Preactivated SIM, Fully Configurable via App (VZN Version) |
The SPYPOINT Link Micro arrives pre-activated and ready to go.
Key Features
- 10-megapixel camera
- 90-degree field of view
- 80-foot trigger distance
- 0.5-second trigger time
- Takes 8 AA batteries
The SPYPOINT Link Micro is designed to send your pictures via text message as affordably as possible. And we mean that sincerely. While you may have some sticker shock looking at this camera as compared to the others on our list, it runs on Verizon’s network, and the batteries last for a good four weeks. That makes it a bargain.
The camera is optimized for sending text messages in the deep woods, so it’s relatively low resolution – only 10 megapixels. It’s also relatively slow, at only 0.5 seconds between sensing motion and snapping a picture.
On the other hand, the motion detectors pick up movement out to 80 feet away, and the night vision mode is relatively crisp. The SPYPOINT is well worth your investment if you want to get up-to-the-minute updates on your game trail or rental property.
Pros
- Sends your pictures via text message
- Good battery life
- Pre-activated SIM
Cons
- Pricey
- Relatively low resolution
- No video
This is one of the most affordable cellular game cameras we’ve seen.

- 110-degree field of view
- 80-foot trigger distance
- 0.4-second trigger time
- Takes DC power or 8 AA batteries
- Includes mounting strap
The CreativeXP 3D Cellular Trail Camera is a 12-megapixel camera with a respectable 0.4-second trigger and a downright impressive 80-foot motion sensor range. With a 110-degree field of view, it covers enough area to keep you well informed of what’s going on in a stretch of the game trail.
This camera will send pictures to you in real-time, either by text or by email. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with a SIM card. You’ll need to purchase one yourself and have it activated by your wireless carrier. We’re not disappointed in the monthly fee – that’s expected – but it would have been nice if there were a SIM card in the box.
The CreativeXP has a hollow aluminum frame that makes it easy to brace against a tree when you’re installing it. If you’re setting it up on a rental property or another powered location, you can plug it into an AC outlet with an adapter, making this one of the most versatile trail cameras we’ve looked at.
Pros
- Sends you photos via text or email
- Sturdy aluminum frame
- Good battery life
- Also runs on DC power
- Lifetime manufacturer’s warranty
Cons
- Expensive
- SIM card not included
- No video

The Campark-Waterproof is designed to be as durable as possible for long-term use.
Key Features
- 14-megapixel camera and 1080p video
- 90-degree field of view
- 65-foot trigger distance
- 0.6-second trigger time
- Takes DC power or 8 AA batteries
- Includes mounting strap
The campark-waterproof is a 14-megapixel camera with a 90-degree field of view and a 65-foot trigger distance. The 0.6-second trigger time is slightly slower than average, but not horrendous. It comes with a DC adapter and has an aluminum frame that is sturdier than a bare polymer camera back when mounted.
This makes it an excellent choice for security. You can set it up outside a rental property and only worry about it if something actually goes wrong at the building.
On the other hand, this camera only lasts about two weeks on a full set of batteries, which makes it less than ideal if you’re looking for a trail camera for long-term use.
Pros
- Sturdy aluminum frame
- Can run on DC power
Cons
- Short battery life
This is excellent for security and a respectable trail-camera.

Key Features
- 12-megapixel camera and 1080p video
- 90-degree field of view
- 65-foot trigger distance
- 0.5-second trigger
- Powered by solar panel
- Includes mounting hardware
The MyCommand is best used in situations where you’re not worried about someone stealing your trail camera; the solar panel on this beast is pretty conspicuous. Provided you’re on private land, though, this is a fantastic choice.
For one, you won’t have to spend a fortune on batteries. You can check your cameras as needed, year-round, and all you’ll have to do is wipe leaves and snow off the solar panel once in a while.
The camera itself features an aluminum mounting frame, which provides a durable brace when you’re strapping it to a tree or post. It offers a time-lapse mode, so you can capture a landscape over the course of an entire year.
The MyCommand is a solid choice, whether you’re tracking game or taking wildlife photos.
Pros
- No batteries
- Time-lapse mode available
- Aluminum mounting frame
Cons
- Pricey
- Difficult to conceal
This is a set-it-and-forget-it camera that keeps itself powered.
Bottom Line
Whether you’re looking for the best cellular trail camera or just trying to buy a more traditional camera, we like to think we’ve presented a wide enough variety of options to take care of just about everybody.
One important thing to be aware of if you’re looking to buy a game camera that sends pics to phone messaging apps: you’ll need a SIM card, and it will need to be activated. This isn’t ridiculously expensive – it costs less than adding a new phone to your plan – but you should talk to your wireless carrier to make sure this kind of camera is something you want to deal with.
Besides that, everything else about these cameras should be upfront and easy to understand.
